1. Thanks to all band members for another incredible trip! Big thanks to Mrs. MacNeill-Howell and Mr. Vallee for their top-notch care of our 7's and 8's.

2. It's another Triple-Gold year as each of our grade 7, 8 and 9 bands all received a Gold National Standard Rating for demonstrating excellence in all areas of their performances and an invitation to the Nationals to represent PEI at MUSICFEST Canada in May 2012 in Ottawa, Ontario.

3. Our showbands were the talk of the jazz venue as they put on 4 outstanding exhibition performances. The showbands remain uncompetitive as there is still no class for this type of performing group at the festival.

4. There will be no band classes held today.

5. Tomorrow at noon time - rehearsals will begin for "I Got The Music In Me"...this is for houseband and a short list of singers to be announced later today.

Intramurals-badminton

Basketball game- Throughout the entire basketball season our basketball teams were competeing in a Eastern Canadian basketball challenge which was called the Beast, it is an agility test. All of our teams qualified for the Championship against 10 other schools. Our two AA teams were skilled enough to win the whole competition and won amazing 25,000 dollars to be used for gym equipment for the next few years. The Dairy Farmers of Canada were the sposors of the event and they will be by here on Moday to present the cheque. We willing be having an assembly on Monday for the student body to help celebrate this event.

Tomorrow the Olympians will be coming to SIS. There will be an assembly in the cafeteria at 2:00 . All students and staff are asked to wear RED and WHITE. This will also count as one of our SIS Spirit days. If any teachers have not received their Canada flags and tatoos see Mr. Connell

Leadership are reminded of the Relay for life meeting Thursday at 7:00. Also , please pass in your permission slips to Mr. Connell. If you don't have one pick one up today.

This week is a busy one for the band program - band members MUST get on the website or check out the band room door for the changes and additions to the normal schedule - AND it only gets busier from now 'til the band trip - so, please stay tuned in!!!!

2. Please note this Rehearsal addition - Tomorrow at 8am - Gr. 7 Band at the usual time!
Tomorrow at noon - showband white. Mr. Gallant will assume showband white singers have studied the song on the showband website.

3. All student information sheets need to be handed in today.

4. Any showband members who have conflicts with the concert date for "I got the music in me" - which is Thursday May 12 in the morning, afternoon and evening, are to see Mr. Gallant after the announcements - this includes "confirmation and the East Prince Music Festival."

5. All grade 7 band members must pick up a permission form for Beginning Band Day - which is this Friday - during lunchtime today - the forms will be on the table just inside the band room to the left.
