Thanks to all band members for a great trip this past weekend and for being model ambassadors of our school to the music community at the Atlantic Band Festival. Chaperons and teachers from SIS and other schools were rather impressed with how you carried yourselves.
Thanks to Mrs. Caissy for stellar organization and execution of another great trip. Thanks to Mr. Delgato and Mr. MacDonald for leadership and care of our band members as well.

Out of the 5 possible performance awards of Participant, Merit, Bronze, Silver and Gold:
The Jazz band, Gr. 7 Band and Gr. 8 Band all received Gold National Standards and an invitation to represent PEI at the Nationals in Ottawa in 2010. The Gr. 9 Band received a Silver National Standard for an "exceedingly high standard of performance".
Our showbands faired out well also. Their performances were exhibition performances only as there is no showband class as of yet in this festival. However, adjudicators insisted on giving each group a performance comment of "Excellence".

Sign-ups for drummers wanting to be considered for the 11th anniversary Drummer's Battle at the Jubilee concert in June is happening today and tomorrow on the band room door!
